Happy Hounds is an independent family run business owned and operated by Phil Bown and Richard Thomas. We acquired the company in November 2019.
As life-long dog lovers, our dream was to own a dog boarding business that exemplifies what we want for our own pets. Over the last 25 years, our dogs have always been the focal part of our life and we understand the concerns when entrusting somebody to love and take care of your dogs physical and mental needs when you are apart – after all, they are family.
Originally opened in 2015, Happy Hounds is purpose designed and built facility that has enjoyed an enviable reputation in the local area for providing a first-class service with excellent facilities and a high standard of personal care and cleanliness. Our Vision is to build on this success and establish Happy Hounds as the boarding and daycare kennel of choice across the entire Yorkshire region.
We employ a team of trusted and loving pet care professionals with life experience of living or working with dogs backed up with relevant academic qualifications along with emergency pet first aid training – all of this is underpinned by our strong traditional family values and an ethos that drives us to deliver an exceptional service and customer experience.
Our passion for your pet’s wellbeing is your peace of mind and it’s part of our Mission for our guests to perceive their stay with us as a holiday and a place of fun and enjoyment, giving you confidence that when you are on holiday or not able to take care of your pet for a short period of time, you know that your dog is in the best of hands and is having a great time.
